Gears of War: E-Day packs the room, while Ace Combat 8 keeps filling in behind it

A near identical release count to last week, a 31,254 player peak for E-Day, and a clutch of tiny games sitting on perfect scores.

E-Day draws the biggest room

Gears of War: E-Day took the week's largest crowd with a peak of 31,254 players. Behind it, [WoG] War of Genesis: Idle Loot did very nicely for itself at 23,601, and STAR WARS: Galactic Racer™ reached 15,310. CPM 2 peaked at 13,202 and Japanese Ramen Simulator at 9,749, which is a healthy showing for a week with one obvious headliner. Note that peak players tell you how many turned up, not how many stayed happy.

Five small games, five perfect records

The best received list is entirely made up of games nobody queued around the block for, and every one of them sits at 100 percent recommended. Escape: Immersion from AzDimension and Royal Games leads on 55 reviews, with The Wacy's Beat, Heart, Beat on 50 and SpaceFudge's Wildaria on 37. Tied to the Beat, by Javier Lianes García, has 29 reviews, and Magnetronic Games' Cheeseonomics Deluxe has 27. Small samples, yes, but nobody has broken the run yet, and that is worth half an hour of your evening.

Ace Combat 8 is still gathering speed

Released on 1 October, ACE COMBAT 8: WINGS OF THEVE added 6,666 reviews across the week and now stands at 18,467, comfortably the biggest ongoing story on the board. Minecraft Dungeons II, out on 29 September, picked up 1,859 to reach 9,912, and Transport Fever 3 from the same day added 1,588 for a total of 6,339. Nivalis Nights also launched on 29 September and gained 961, taking it to 4,038.

Deskrawl quietly doubles down

Deskrawl: Idle ARPG arrived on 28 September with far less fanfare than the week's big names, then added 1,011 reviews to reach 2,578. That is a game whose audience is still arriving a fortnight after release, which is usually the sign of something people pass along rather than something that was advertised at them.

Steady volume, with simulation on the march

There were 3,035 releases this week against 3,044 last week, so the tap is running at exactly the same pressure. Action led as usual on 590, up from 565, and Simulation made the biggest jump, 469 against 420. Strategy and Adventure both gave ground, at 320 from 369 and 296 from 340 respectively. Puzzle held steady at 280 from 284, and Platformer nudged up to 165 from 145.
